About us
Based in Portland, Oregon for more than 30 years, McTavish Shortbread is an independent craft bakery that prides itself on creating Portland’s very own spin on shortbread. We use hand-selected, all-natural ingredients, which are locally sourced when possible, including fresh local creamery butter, pure cane sugar, Madagascar vanilla, and an array of premium ingredients. Our high-quality shortbread cookies bake up with a moister crumb and feature sophisticated, mouthwatering flavors like Lemon Lavender, Chocolate Espresso, Hazelnut, and Blueberry. They are the foodie’s version of the classic Scottish cookie.
Family-owned and operated, we foster a culture in which we are empowered to make a difference, bring out the best in each other, and take care of our customers, our partners, and our communities. Our merry band of artisan bakers and staff pour integrity, collaboration, and kindness into every batch of cookies we bake.

When Coid-19 hit our communities, all activity stopped for awhile and the burden to hold everything together fell on our caregivers -- the nurses, techs, doctors and support staff at the hospitals, urgent cares, ICUs, testing facilities and ERs across the country. Cookies-for-Caregivers was born out of that struggle as a way to say thank you for all their hard work and their commitment.
